Leaves of light

This short poem captures spirals of light, shadow and sound emerging from memory as well as snippets of conversation with loved loves held online during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the form of poetry, these spirals and snippets move through ideas of ‘solidness’ and ‘fragility’ where actual and imagined home-spaces are concerned.

This Angle of Light

This angle of light,

The sound of the tap running.

Yesterday, I heard a plane,

A blue jay joined our conversation.

Did you work today?

No. I dressed for the light:

A blur of trees through the window.

A glass of wine tipped at your lips.

A screen with familiar faces.
